These early Qing Dynasty official’s hat armchairs are from Shanxi, China. Though made during the Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1912), the design of the chairs is from the Ming Dynasty (1368 -1644). The chairs are made from Elm wood. The oxblood lacquer finish is gently worn in an appropriate way and the original antique patina is lovely.
